An excellent place for lingering waterfowl and late migrant/summering shorebirds, herons, gulls, terns, and a full array of salt marsh birds including Clapper Rail, Seaside Sparrow and Boat-tailed Grackle. Bombay Hook features nesting Black-necked Stilt, Willow Flycatcher, and Coastal Plain Swamp Sparrow. The list of rarities that have been seen at this famous birding hot spot is impressive (e.g. Whiskered Tern, Sharp-tailed Sandpiper). There is an entrance fee of $4 per vehicle, but if you have a Federal Duck Stamp, the entrance fee is waived. Difficulty: Easy roadside birding in flat country.
