Virtual Meeting: Baltimore Bird Club

January 10 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Sarah Luttrell will speak on “Bird Songs”. Acoustic communication is important for birds. Luckily for us, bird and human hearing ranges largely overlap, allowing us to key in on this communication channel for general enjoyment, and for better birding. Sarah Luttrell is a research assistant in the Feather Identification Lab at the Smithsonian Institution. She has a background in bioacoustics and using bird sounds to help understand evolution in North American Birds. Sarah will talk about the natural history of bird sounds and how we can use songs and calls to enhance our birding experience.

There is a 100-person limit to our Zoom meetings, but there are still plenty of spaces available. You may sign up for the meeting at https://baltimorebirdclub.org/poll/BBClectureSignup201006.html. All you have to do is click on that link, enter your email address, and click the “Submit” button. We’ll email you the link to the Zoom meeting before the lecture.
